Project Background

To enable the tower companies play a crucial role in the emerging 5G market, Bentley Systems’ OpenTower iQ software is providing sound guidelines on expanding their existing capacity.

Whenever anything changes on a tower (self-supporting, guyed, and monopole towers) such as equipment, risk category, serviceability requirements or structural changes, a structural analysis is required. A process aiming to monitor various passive assets present onsite through real time data capturing and reporting is required by tower companies to stay updated on the status/condition of their assets at all times. By integrating digital twin technology with existing data, tools and systems, OpenTower iQ provides:

  • To enable tower owners, carriers and engineering service providers to design, deploy, operate, and maintain tower infrastructures and efficiently transition to the 5G market.
  • Complete lifecycle management solution from a digital twin to analysis, inspections and report generation.
  • Continuous access to near real-time information for quick decision support and more economical options for 3D visualization and predictive design to derive actionable insights to better monitor, predict and react to any required modification.

Synopsis of the Work

OpenTower iQ creates reality model from mere raw data.. Once the mesh model was created, it was further developed for ML processing. Then AI/ML data was uploaded on TowerSight. After that, the team was able to access the reality data on TowerSight and capture the details. Detailed drawings were created from the extracted data from the reality model. The output was delivered in PDF and CAD format.
